Good afternoon. I couldn’t do the blog this morning, I had to do a million things. But anyway, the good thing is I have photographs to back up all these stories.
Last night, Johnny Skyscraper told me about a party that he was invited to. So I said if he knows these people they got to be crazy because he’s a nut. Anyway, it was a big loft party, someone’s just bought a building and they had their party in a loft and of course the champagne, the vodka, margaritas, tequila, beautiful women and all that and then Scott shows up. Excuse me, not Scott. That’s Johnny Skyscraper. He got there drunk and starts talking loud and talking to women this and that. Thank God, he’s so good looking, he can get away with half his stuff.
But one funny thing he did – I’m talking to these two girls from Germany. We’re just talking about Portraits of New York or the party, whatever, we’re talking and Johnny Skyscraper walks up and says, “You women must have beautiful vaginas.” He did use the word vagina. These girls went to shock like they didn’t laugh, they didn’t look sad. They just went frozen. So I had string it out right away so I said, “Scott – excuse me – Johnny Skyscraper, please be quiet.” I said, “He has advanced Tourette. When he drinks he likes to say women’s parts of their body in front of them.” So they started laughing but that was wrong. Johnny Skyscraper thought that he can just say anything then.
Anyway, he started getting really loud and crazy. I couldn’t ask him to leave because he invited me to the party. So I had to get out of there. The funny thing is that Tony Roma invited him. He got there after I left and he told me the stories what Johnny Skyscraper did. They’re funny stories. Anyway, I’m going to talk more about this later on.
Back in [02:09 inaudible] photographing, hanging out with my new buddy. I call him Mr. 7th Avenue. He’s a Black gentleman. He’s my age. He’s been hanging around the garment district probably for the last 35 years. He knows everybody, everything. We have great conversations. He hangs around those parts, he works for a couple of different people and things and he’s a real street dude. I’ll be talking about him a lot too. He’s the only Black guy I met from New York City who’s been to Key West and knows the Keys, very funny.
Anyway, I’m getting back out there to do some more photography. Some interesting things I learned about the sunlight on the street of 7th Avenue. It’s working with me. I don’t have to use a flash for a lot of the pictures. I’m getting them very close. I still have…
