Downtown, especially the Canal Street area is full of illegal merchandise. The two main type of sellers are African and Oriental. The raids are daily, because the knock-off these “merchants” sell cost billions to the ones they ripped off… not the buyer, but the original manufacturer of the merchandise, movies, parfumes, handbags, sun glasses, ipod, etc. So there are two teams, the ones that sell, and the ones that watch-out.
