I barely rarely do this but I got a couple of spare minutes. Something about this 31st and 6th Avenue, I don’t think I discussed but it’s on the corner, most places that matter in the middle of the block. This means from the south and north, the east and the west, people are coming. Lights are changing, people are coming, crowds are coming left, right, in front of me, back of me. It takes a lot of energy out of me. I’m always looking ahead what’s coming, what’s going, who can get pissed off if I take a picture. Anyway, it’s a free for all.

Anyway, I think it’s the 50th day straight of me taking pictures of New York City during the day and some nights. I must be shooting between two or three hundred images a day. Fifty days – that’s about 12,000 images. Out of these 12,000 I think just 2,500 are going to go up on the site. I’m excited to get these out there eventually.

I’m having some great déjà vu’s of the 70’s. I did about a year and a half straight of sunsets – sunsets, sunrise, sunset, sunrise. I used to ride my bike and just continually do it. Some crazy passion thing. Then in the late 80’s, I worked for Mentertainment Magazine. I think I went 150 days straight to three go-go bars a night and portfolios during the day, up like 20,000. Anyway, things I think about.

I certainly am not going to take a picture of everyone in New York City but almost every type of character. I could really categorize people now. I look at faces so much I think I can really tell if its good or bad or if they’re gay or not gay or if they’re players. I’m reading faces like never before. I can look at most people and tell. I could tell a lot of things. I guess that’s what a mind reader is, a clairvoyant.

Anyway, I need an intern to start transcribing this stuff and put it on the website. The girl that I’m using isn’t going to be doing it anymore. So if anybody wants to help me or get some small paycheck or partnership, 908-361-5606 or keith@salsimages.
